Communication Coaching & Facilitation

Feelings-and-needs-based communication is communication that leads to deeper interpersonal connection and understanding. My goal is to offer you and your partner, friend, or family member, empowering tools that enable you to find solutions together, solutions that are life-affirming and where everyone’s needs are considered.

I offfer single sessions, as well as packages of individualized sessions, to help you improve and enrich your relationship with each other through clear, authentic, and compassionate communication. Please contact me for my schedule of fees.

You will learn and practice:

  • How to gain greater awareness of the feelings and unmet needs behind conflicts.

  • How to express to each other what’s important to you in ways that foster respect and understanding.

  • How to listen to each other with an open heart, even when you disagree.

  • How to approach emotionally charged conversations with a collaborative mindset of power-with, rather than power-over.

  • How to engage with challenging topics and situations from perspectives other than your own,.

  • How to stay connected to yourself and to the other person, as you both deactivate your stress responses.

Conflict Resolution Facilitation

The reality is that conflict is a part of life. Whether at home, with friends, at work, or in our communities, we all experience conflict — big and small. Conflict let us know what values, needs, and dreams are important to us.

So how can we engage more productively with conflict?

When approached with care and respect for all involved, conflict is life-serving and life-enriching, and can lead to greater connection, cooperation, respect, and intimacy.

One of the keys to successfully navigating, and even reducing interpersonal conflict, is the ability genuinely to connect with another person while staying connected to oneself; to know and feel moved by what matters to the other person, while at the same honoring what matters to us.

So how do we get there?

My approach to conflict resolution coaching and facilitation is based on the principles of Nonviolent Communication and John Kinyon’s Mediate Your Life approach to transforming conflict. It starts with finding and building connection between the parties involved. Connection is the foundation to co-creating solutions that can meet everyone’s needs to the greatest extent possible. Connection builds understanding and trust, and trust builds our capacity to navigate differences and find solutions, together, that are life serving.

Length and number of sessions will vary depending on your specific needs, and by mutual agreement. Please contact me for my schedule of fees.
